Emirates Skywards

In a major advancement for loyalty program enthusiasts, Emirates Skywards and Marriott Bonvoy have significantly expanded their partnership, introducing a powerful new feature that allows members to convert rewards in both directions. This enhancement gives over thirty-five million members of the two renowned programs the freedom to redeem, earn, and convert between Skywards Miles and Marriott Bonvoy Points with greater ease than ever before.

Building on their already strong collaboration, this next phase transforms the relationship between Emirates and Marriott into a model of strategic synergy—creating more opportunities and flexibility for global travelers.

Earn Double Rewards Across Air and Hotel Experiences
Under the newly enhanced agreement, members are now entitled to dual earning benefits, maximizing their travel spend across both airlines and hotel bookings.

Guests who book eligible stays at participating Marriott Bonvoy properties will earn 1 Skywards Mile for every US dollar spent, on top of the regular Marriott Bonvoy Points they already receive.

Meanwhile, travelers flying with Emirates earn 3 Marriott Bonvoy Points for every USD 1 spent on eligible flights, along with the regular accumulation of Skywards Miles.

This structure allows members to accelerate their rewards balance whether they are on the ground or in the sky, making every journey even more rewarding. From complimentary room upgrades and bonus flight miles to exclusive experiences, this dual benefit system redefines the concept of travel loyalty.

A Game-Changing Two-Way Conversion Model
The centerpiece of this elevated alliance is a two-way conversion system, empowering members to transfer rewards based on their personal travel goals. This flexibility ensures that loyalty is no longer tied to one program, but can be maximized based on a traveler’s changing needs.

Here’s how it works:

Exchange Marriott Bonvoy Points for Skywards Miles at a ratio of 3 Bonvoy Points to 1 Skywards Mile.

For every 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points converted, members receive an additional bonus of 5,000 Skywards Miles.

New functionality also enables members to convert Skywards Miles to Marriott Bonvoy Points at a 3:2 ratio, with a minimum conversion requirement of 3,000 Miles.

This innovative feature removes traditional program silos, giving members the power to plan their journeys end-to-end, choosing between flights or stays based on real-time preferences and opportunities.

Industry Accolades Reflect Skywards’ Leadership
The timing of this enhanced offering aligns with a wave of international recognition for Emirates Skywards, solidifying its position as a global loyalty leader. The program recently received:

Awarded Top Global Airline Loyalty Program at the International Loyalty Awards 2025.

Platinum for Global Loyalty Programme and Silver for Customer Experience Strategy at the Loyalty 360 Awards

Named World’s Best Airline Rewards Program at the World Travel Awards 2024.

These awards highlight Skywards’ ongoing commitment to delivering innovative, customer-centric loyalty solutions that allow travelers to earn smarter and enjoy more.

Marriott Bonvoy’s Global Influence in Hospitality
With a vast network of over 8,500 properties across more than 130 countries and territories, Marriott Bonvoy remains one of the most expansive and diverse hotel programs in the world. From the opulence of The Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis to the chic and contemporary vibes of W Hotels, Moxy, and Aloft, the program serves every type of traveler with premium options and personalized experiences.

By deepening its collaboration with Emirates Skywards, Marriott Bonvoy adds another layer of value—offering members seamless access to elite travel benefits across both land and air. Travelers can still convert their Points to Skywards Miles and fly better with Emirates to over 140 global destinations, combining comfort, convenience, and flexibility.

Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Skywards, said: “Marriott Bonvoy offers one of the most fantastic hotel portfolios in the industry, and as one of the most valued and recognised loyalty programmes in the world – we’re thrilled to take our partnership to the next level. Our 35 million members have benefitted from this strategic partnership for more than 10 years – earning twice the rewards on flights and hotel stays. And we’ve now opened a world of new rewards with the option to convert Miles to Points. This means members can redeem Points towards stays at more than 30 hotel brands and over 10,000 destinations across 144 countries and territories.

Redefining Loyalty in a Rebounding Travel Landscape
As global tourism continues to recover and expand, modern travelers are looking for versatile, high-value loyalty programs that adapt to their diverse needs. This strategic evolution between Emirates Skywards and Marriott Bonvoy offers precisely that—a unified loyalty ecosystem that empowers users to maximize their travel investment.

Whether you are a business traveler navigating busy routes, a family planning a luxury vacation, or an adventurer mapping out your next cultural journey, this alliance gives you the tools to earn and redeem rewards on your terms.

With flexible Points and Miles conversions, dual rewards across airlines and hotels, and a dedication to ongoing innovation, the partnership between Emirates Skywards and Marriott Bonvoy sets a new standard for the future of travel loyalty.

Philip Andreopoulos, Chief Commercial Officer – EMEA, Marriott International commented: “It is great to see our strong partnership with Emirates Skywards expand, to be able to offer our Marriott Bonvoy members more unique and diverse travel experiences, along with personalised benefits that they can access across the globe. The addition of this new benefit reflects the shared vision and collaboration between the two programmes and brings a more holistic travel experience for all of our loyal members.”

The expanded partnership between Emirates Skywards and Marriott Bonvoy is more than just an upgra—it’s a complete reimagining of how loyalty programs should function. By putting freedom, flexibility, and value into the hands of travelers, this alliance sets a new gold standard in global rewards programs. For millions of members worldwide, the journey just became more rewarding than ever.
